A learning based class for those intermediate to advanced quilters or sewers who would like to expand their skills
September 13th - Mastering the 8 Pointed Star Block
Learn to piece a traditional 8pointed star then move on to piecing stars of different sizes and varieties. This class will stretch and improve your skills and enable you to design your own quilt. Video will be shown to demonstrate a very effective technique then you will have hands on time to work on your own block.
Supplies: 1/2 yd of background fabric
1/2yd of star fabric
Additional yardage of a variety of fabrics for backgrounds and stars to experiment with - no piece need be larger than 1/2 yd
September 27th - Many Trips around the World
This is a class taken from Bonnie Hunters method. Class will include handout of instructions from her blog. Students will construct the block that can then be manipulated to create many Trip around the World blocks with many different layout options. Explore fabric and block placement as you challenge yourself to design blocks and a quilt top.
Supplies: For a scrappy designed look ....1/4 yd min of at least 20 different fabrics
For a planned block design ......1 yd or more for contrast chain blocks + 1 yd or more of 5 additional fabrics.

October 25th - One Block Wonder ..... 8 repeats and the new book of ideas
November 15th - Bloomin 9Patch Revisited
November 29th - Strip Pieced Mariners Compass
